Survivor 1-on-1 Recovery Consulting
Life during and after cancer deserves clear, informed guidance.

Treatment ends, but the questions don't. Many breast cancer survivors expect to feel "done" once treatment is over, only to find themselves navigating stiffness, shoulder pain, fatigue, lymphedema concerns, or uncertainty about how to move safely again. These side effects can appear weeks, months, or even years later, and too often, survivors are left without clear answers or guidance on what to do next.
You don't have to figure this out alone. Our 1-on-1 Recovery Consulting provides the oncology-informed education, validation, and expert guidance you need to understand what's happening in your body, reduce your risks, and confidently move forward in your recovery.
Support That Acknowledges What Your Body Has Been Through
Our 1-on-1 Recovery Consulting helps you move forward with clarity and confidence—not fear or uncertainty. We start by understanding your treatment history, your current challenges, and your goals. Then we provide the oncology-informed education and practical guidance you need to navigate recovery safely and effectively.
There's no assumption that your body should "just bounce back." Instead, you'll receive evidence-based support that meets you exactly where you are—whether that's managing lymphedema risk, addressing shoulder stiffness and pain, understanding post-radiation side effects, or confidently returning to exercise and the activities you love.
This is consulting grounded in 20+ years of oncology expertise and doctoral-level research—not generic advice. You'll leave each session with clarity, strategies you can use immediately, and the knowledge to make informed decisions about your recovery.

Attention to Shoulder Health & Function
Shoulder changes after breast cancer are common and often overlooked.
- Understand why shoulder pain or stiffness is happening
- Restore comfortable, functional movement
- Address limitations before they become long-term problems
- Move through daily activities, work, and exercise with confidence—without letting "I don't know if this is safe" hold you back
Lymphedema Education Without Fear
Survivors often receive warnings without clear answers, leaving them fearful and uncertain. You'll learn:
- What actually increases lymphedema risk—and what doesn't
- How to recognize early changes without constant worry (and what to do if this happens)
- How strength training and movement may reduce your risk when done correctly
- How to return to activity safely, without outdated or unnecessary restrictions
Understanding your risk empowers you to move forward with confidence, not fear.
Support for Real Life, Not Just Recovery
Recovery doesn't end when treatment does.
This coaching supports your return to:
- Strength training and fitness
- Work and daily physical demands
- Hobbies, recreation, and activities that bring you joy
- Movement that feels steady, capable, sustainable, and safe.
The focus is always on helping your body work better in the life you're living now—and the life you want to live next.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is this different from physical therapy?
We provide education and coaching, not physical therapy or clinical treatment. While PT focuses on hands-on rehabilitation and exercise prescription under your insurance plan, we offer oncology-informed guidance to help you understand your body, reduce risks like lymphedema, navigate side effects, and make informed decisions about your recovery. Think of us as your expert guide—not your clinician.
Does insurance cover these services?
No, our education and coaching services are not covered by insurance because we do not provide physical therapy or medical treatment. Services are private pay, and we provide detailed invoices you can submit for possible HSA/FSA reimbursement or out-of-network benefits (though reimbursement is not guaranteed).
What can I expect in a consulting session?
Sessions are tailored to your specific concerns—whether that's understanding lymphedema risk, managing pain and stiffness, validating symptoms like achiness, pulling, or tightness, or getting back to exercise safely. You'll receive evidence-based education, practical strategies, and the clarity to make informed decisions about your recovery.
What if I'm years past treatment—is it too late?
Absolutely not. Side effects like shoulder dysfunction, lymphedema, pain, and fatigue can emerge or persist years after treatment. Survivors at any stage of recovery benefit from understanding their bodies, reducing risks, and getting answers to questions that may have gone unaddressed.
Who are these services for?
Our services are for breast cancer survivors navigating recovery after treatment. We work with survivors at any stage—whether you've just started treatment or years into survivorship.
Do I need to be local to Minneapolis to work with you?
No. All survivor coaching sessions are conducted virtually via secure video call, so you can access our services from anywhere in the U.S.
How do I get started?
Schedule a consultation to discuss your specific situation and recovery goals. We'll determine the best path forward together—no pressure, just clear guidance tailored to your needs.
